How We Work

  1. Client Request & Assessment
If you need a machine serviced, even if it wasn’t purchased from us, contact us via phone or email, providing details about the issue. We may request photos or videos to better assess the problem, which helps reduce unnecessary shipping costs.
  2. Initial Evaluation
Once we receive detailed information, we’ll determine if we can service your device. Since we don’t repair all brands, providing a description, images, or videos helps us identify if your device can be repaired.
  3. Repair Process
After receiving your machine at our Miami facility, we will estimate the repair costs within 1 to 3 business days, and complete the repair in 1 to 2 additional business days. While we aim for quick service, this timeframe ensures precision and transparency.
  4. Dispatch & Return
Once the repairs are completed, the device will be dispatched back to you within 1 to 2 business days.

Repair Costs

  • Portable Oxygen Concentrators: Repair costs typically range from $150 to $790, depending on the extent of the repairs needed.
  • Stationary Oxygen Concentrators: Repairs for stationary concentrators range from $60 to $350, depending on the issue.
  • Comprehensive Repairs (Refurbished Complete): For complex repairs involving major components like the compressor, motherboard, valves, and software, costs will vary depending on the condition of the machine.

Special Opportunity: Trade-In for Replacement

In some cases, the cost of repairing a machine may exceed the value of a used or refurbished model of the same or similar brand. In these situations, we offer a trade-in opportunity. We can take your old unit as a “Bulk” trade-in, allowing you to offset the cost of a new or refurbished machine. This is ideal if your current machine is too expensive to repair or has become obsolete. The price we offer will be based on the condition of the device, with the understanding that it will no longer be usable.

Key Points to Remember

  • Not all brands are serviceable, so providing detailed information helps us determine if we can repair your machine.
  • Sharing photos, videos, and descriptions can save you on unnecessary shipping costs.
  • Repair timelines are efficient, but the process may sometimes be completed earlier.
  • Trade-In Options are available if repair costs exceed the value of a replacement machine.

Shipping and Charges: Detailed Guidelines

  1. Portable Oxygen Concentrators & Ventilatory Therapy Machines:
American Oxygen provides USPS or UPS shipping labels for these devices. You do not need to pay upfront for the shipping. Instead, the costs—ranging between $15 and $40 USD depending on the distance—will be included in the final estimate. The shipping costs are only billed at the end of the process, regardless of whether you accept or decline the estimate.
  2. Stationary Oxygen Concentrators:
Given their weight (30 to 60 pounds), shipping costs for stationary units must be prepaid before the service begins. We will provide an initial estimate for shipping costs, typically between $40 and $100 USD, which you must pay to generate a shipping label. After the machine arrives at our facility, we will provide a repair estimate, including the return shipping cost. Once approved and paid, we’ll repair and dispatch your unit back to you.
